Windows8 logon for 7 by PeterRollar Windows8 logon for 7 by PeterRollar
!!Caution!!
This only works with Windows7 SP1 32bit and Windows7 SP1 64 bit
DON'T try it on another version

Make a backup of your files before.
Learn how to remove the original language button in the left upper corner here[link] Thanks to :iconlee-whittington: for the hint.:)

There are two backgrounds in the pack. One with and one without Firefox text. The reason is that you can create a local account or an account for your browser in real Windows8.

Be careful what you are doing. I'm not responsible for any damage of your system. Don't try it if you are not an experienced user and if you have no installation disc to repair your system if somethings going wrong.

This also changes the look of your CAD (Ctrl+Alt+Del) screen as shown in the bottom picture.

with detailed informations how to use it.:)

waww... but can you remove the "FireFox" text?

You can easily do this yourself. The text is part of the background and can be removed with every image editing program.:D

Simply open the authui.dll with reshacker and import all bitmaps into your dll. Also copy the three UI files into your dll. That's all.
Than open the basebrd.dll and import the bitmaps into your dll.
Done.:)

I'm quite confused, is this x64 compatible? I'm getting mixed opinions, and I'd love to use this... =\

Yes it is x64 compatible. Download the file and unzip it. You get two folders. One with x86 files and one with x64 files. Simply use the ones you need.:)Read the description and follow it carefully. Otherwise you will damage your computer.

Aw only 32-bit?

Couple questsions: Can I change the green? How does this work with having to enter both username and password?

:iconpeterrollar:
PeterRollar Featured By Owner Dec 12, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist
Oh sorry saw the other questions to late.
No you can't change the green. Some of the bitmaps are digitally signed by Microsoft and changing some of them prevents your computer from starting. You will only get a message "Wrong picture" and than you have to search your installation disc.
The behaviour of this logonscreen is exactly the same as the default logon(username/password)

Yes for now. I will try to get 64bit files to see what's the difference, if there is one. I cannot recommend to use this on 64 bit because it is not tested. Maybe it works, but if not you will have a real problem with your computer.

The basebrand.dll is the same as on 32 bit. The authui.dll is a little bit different, but not that much.Easy to modify.:)

Notify you that x64 version do not change the background of login. I changed that manually...:)

:iconpeterrollar:

That's normal. The background isn't part of these two files and must always be added manually. Only on XP the background is part of the logon. Was easier to modify but XP is almost dead.

This is 32 bit which means it is made for x86 platforms.
64bit are for x64 platforms.
So this should be what you want.
